At the 2025 Business Meeting, it was decided to deactivate the USS Sperry AS-12 Association. With the Executive Boards direction, the members present voted to shut down operations and close things up. The website will stay active for historical purposes until funds are no longer available to maintain it’s activation.

It is with great sadness that I announce the passing of our shipmate Tony Ayala today at his home surrounded by all of his family. Tony was a member of our group for the better part of 30 years and served as our Treasurer during some of those years. He was always the life of the reunion, instantly making friends with everyone he met.
I met Tony at the 1998 reunion and from that day forward he and I were together at all the reunions we attended.
I have requested any further information from his family as it comes available and that information will be posted here immediately.
