Frequently Asked Questions

How do I become a member of the Sperry Association ?

You can download an application found on this page : https://www.usssperryas12.org/membership-information/
Once approved, you will receive your membership card with a welcome letter which will include the password to enter the Members Only webpage.

Are there membership dues, and what are they used for ?

Yes, the dues help cover the costs to operate the association. This website is one of those things and also covers any office supplies needed to publish our Spring and Fall newsletters.
We also maintain a membership muster list which can be found on this website under the Members Only webpage.

What does the Members Only webpage consist of ?

This page is where documents are located for you to view or download.
The Muster List, Membership Renewal Form, the Spring and Fall Newsletters, and the forms to order from our Ship’s Store.

What’s in the Ship’s Store

We carry T-shirts, Sweat shirts, Ball caps, bumper stickers and a few other Sperry related items. Our Storekeeper maintains an inventory of these items.

Do I have to be a member to attend the annual reunions ?

Yes, as much as we want everyone to join us, we need to keep the attendance to association members and their guests.

Can I bring others with me to the reunions ?

Absolutely. Family members and your friends are always welcome to attend a reunion with you. Other than seeing your shipmates, we want you to have fun with your guests.

I was on another AS, can I attend a Sperry reunion ?

Absolutely, you can attend as a guest of the association President. All you need to do is pay the registration fees.

I see your reunions are held in different cities. Why is that ?

https://www.usssperryas12.org/reunion-sites/
Having the reunions in different cities allows our group to see places someone would normally not travel to, but want to experience the city and do tours.
We make every attempt to go to a different city each year. There have been a few occasions that we have gone back to one of our favorite location in previous years. On the reunion sites listing, you’ll see a number next to those places we have gone back to with the number of times we have gone back.
